For 2015, XPN Welcomes...

For the 15th year, the Media Business Authority proudly presents The State Street Blues Stroll, an XPN WELCOMES Event.
[This "family band"] represents one of the few remaining links to pure Chicago Blues.
- Chicago Tribune

Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials will make a return appearance at this year's Blues Stroll. They first performed for us in 2007 and proceeded to rip "the joint" (Theatre) apart - hands down, our most popular and memorable headline show ever. Their same line-up will appear on June 13. Jonny Meister of WXPN's "The Blues Show" will be our MC at the Theatre and will introduce Lil' Ed and The Blues Imperials.

Lil Ed Williams, James "Pookie" Young (Ed's half-brother), Mike Garrett and Kelly Littleton are currently celebrating 24 rip-roaring years together. They have out-lasted sports cars and Presidents, musical fads and fashion trends. The band's wildly energetic and seriously soulful music is jam-packed with Lil' Ed's incendiary slide playing and passionate singing.

2007 & 2009 Blues Music Awards' - "Band of the Year"

2011 Living Blues Critics Poll - "Best Live Band"

Come to State Street in downtown Media and experience a full round of Blues as performed by talented artists at 23 indoor venues and two outdoor stages.

We have a full evening of music, so make dinner reservations before the show!

"State Street's all right, and the lights shine nice and bright." -- Bessemer Blues - Ma Rainey (1927)
